What is refloxology?
Reflexology is a type of massage at which the therapist applies different amounts of pressure to the hands and feet. By stimulating specific pressure points, reflexology helps the body settle into a more relaxed state. The hands and feet contain multiple reflex points that correspond to several different areas of the body. When these points are stimulated, they relieve stress and tension. For example, massaging the ball of the foot can help with stress-related heart conditions. Similarly, applying pressure to the points that correspond with the head and brain can alleviate migraines and anxiety.
Reflexology can be used to restore and maintain the body's natural balance and facilitate healing. For each person, the application and the effect of the therapy are unique. Reflexology is one of the safest and least invasive complementary therapeutic practices available.
Some of the most common benefits are:
-
Reduced stress
-
Improved relaxation
-
Released tension
-
Decreased pain
-
Improved body function
-
Enhanced wellness
-
Increased strength
-
Increased mobility
Is reflexology right for me?
Reflexology is an excellent option for restoring energy levels and overall relaxation. Since it's performed predominantly on hands and feet, it is especially suitable for those who do not prefer full body massage. Reflexology may not be suitable for all conditions and it's important to let your Massage Therapist know of any medical conditions or sensitivities that may be helpful prior to care. Not sure if reflexology is right for you? Give us a call and we would be happy to answer any questions you have.
Stress Relief
One of the most prominent benefits of reflexology is to effectively reduce stress and anxiety. The technique relaxes the nervous system and balances the hormonal system, which in result promotes a sense of peace and provides healing through support of our body's self-regulating processes.
Relaxation and Sleep
Reflexology helps people who struggle with insomnia or other sleep-related issues. The technique stimulates the pineal gland in our brain which controls our internal clock. This helps us fall asleep more quickly, and stay asleep throughout the night while promoting deep sleep and rapid eye movement at healthy levels.
Pain Relief
Reflexology reduces inflammation and acidic levels throughout the body, promoting healing and lowering pain including migraines, headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, and pain associated with various auto-immune diseases such as fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis.
Improved Circulation
Reflexology stimulates blood flow that is responsible for delivering nutrients and oxygen to the cells. A more efficient blood flow will improve the body's ability to heal, enhance its energy, and fight exhaustion.
Better Immune Function
Regular reflexology sessions encourage the immune system to work at its optimum level which in turn supports the body's ability to fight off infections and illnesses more effectively. The immune system is strengthened through enhanced circulation and reduced stress levels.
Enhanced Wellness
Regular reflexology sessions can lead to improved physical, mental, and emotional health. The technique promotes overall well-being by supporting the body's natural healing processes and maintaining balance.

What Our Clients Are Saying
"The people are great! Friendly staff and flexible appointments. They have direct billing with insurance too which is really nice. I've been going in for deep tissue massage for the last 3 weeks and my muscles are finally loosening up. Grace is amazing at deep tissue massage. I highly recommend her if that's what you're looking for... and it takes me a lot to say that. I don't give praise unless it's deserved."
Tannis Mason
"I dealt with shoulder pain for a year and half. I saw multiple massage therapists throughout that time and no one could seem to relieve the pain and stiffness. One session with Craig and he fixed it. He even knew the cause just based on my description of the issue before we even started the massage. I highly recommend him!"
Candida Tookey
"Amazing results! I've been meeting with Craig for a few months now, and we've managed to completely obliterate my chronic shoulder pain. Craig uses a number of different modalities to address issues you may be experiencing. He's enthusiastic about his work, and it comes through in our sessions. Craig's jovial and professional personality was key to putting any hesitations I may have had at ease, as he was the first male massage therapist I've worked with. Always comfortable, always professional."
Kim Davidson
"Lexy was great. She's clearly passionate about massage, health & fitness, and she was very knowledgeable on ways to correct tightness in my body. She even provided stretching suggestions/examples specific to my problem areas after my massage time had run out."
